The 2011 Nissan Sentra front-wheel drive 4-door sedan is a practical, roomy and economical car with several trims available to suit a person’s needs. The Sentra, now available at a great price at local Dallas Nissan dealer, wears a metal timing chain that doesn’t require scheduled replacements like rubber timing belts do. And its iridium-tipped spark plugs last 105,000 miles – a lot longer than traditional ones.
The 2011 Nissan Sentra has six trims available: the 2.0, 2.0S, 2.0SL, 2.0SR, SE-R, and the SE-R Spec V. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 140-hp and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. The SE-R and SE-R Spec V both have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 177-hp in the SE-R and 200-hp in the Spec V. The SE-R is offered only with a CVT transmission, while the Spec V is paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
The available intelligent CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) is different from ordinary automatics. Virtually “gearless”, it keeps the engine performing at optimal rpm for smooth, efficient cruising and fast response. Sentra also uses suspension components developed for luxury sedans, with “ripple-control” shocks that improve handling and help damp vibrations for a quieter, more controlled ride. Rebound springs help control motion during cornering for a smoother, flatter ride.
2011 Nissan Sentra Safety Features
Safety equipment is extensive on all trims, including dual-stage front airbags, front side airbags, full length curtain airbags, active front seat headrests, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The available navigation system gives more than directions. Use the 5” touch-screen display to find the closest ATM or a new restaurant with Points of Interest. Check out color-coded XM NavTraffic updates to find the highway with the smoothest flow.
